Plastering the Ceiling Before Stretch Installation: Work Stages

Why prepare the ceiling

• Remove old paint, whitewash, and loose plaster.
• Treat joints and cracks with primer and elastic filler.
• Check slabs for active leaks or condensation.
• Ensure the surface is dry and stable before mounting the profile.

Main stages

1. Inspection and moisture control. In apartments in Yoshkar-Ola, especially in older buildings, ceiling slabs can retain moisture after winter. We measure humidity and postpone installation if the surface is damp.

2. Cleaning and priming. Dust and chalk reduce adhesion. We use deep-penetration primer and let it dry fully.

4. Drying and final check. Before the stretch ceiling is installed, the base must be dry, clean, and free of falling particles.
